Later, Francesco Illy who come up with latest coffee pod, designed specifically for coffee machine with filter. The reason is Illy hopes high-end customers in the coffee drinkers could make decaffeinated coffee with professional coffee makers without demanding a grinder.

Including the Illy launched the “brick coffee” with unique vacuum packaging system.

Due to this system, customers can still keep the taste and freshness of each pod as if the coffee just grinded.

What is Nespresso Coffee Capsule?

The Nespresso coffee capsule started in 1986 by Nestlé. Nestlé engineer Eric Favre came up with this thought after visited a popular Italian espresso store. He noticed that the barista kept pulling the handle on the espresso machine to increase the pressure to adjust extraction

Until 1986, Favre carry out the project, created a simple coffee maker that imitated the pressure of espresso machine. The machine created pressure system to water and coffee to achieve a cup of espresso with strong crema layer. Later 1986 the first generation Nespresso coffee machine had a patent and trademarked by Nestle

Nestle initially launched their machines as an all-in-one, convenient coffee machine for using in office buildings. afterwards, they realized persons in many offices in Switzerland and Japan haven’t any interest in four different Nespresso capsule types.

Jean-Paul Gaillard joined Nespresso and change the marketing strategy for Nespresso coffee machines. Repositioning the product as a business to sell to household consumers as a luxury. Amazing that Paul even rise 50% for each capsule in price than it before. Business started to take off after Gaillard revolution.

Difference:

1.Machine

ESE Coffee Machine: the water is pressed in the chamber at a temperature of around 90 degrees and a pressure of less than 20 bar. If you make espresso instead of fancy cream coffee, you need a higher pressure. This is why People will feel that espresso has a stronger aroma

A simple operation can get a cup of espresso in a short time, if your ESE coffee quality and grinding degree are very high, then this cup of coffee is the closest to the effect of using the filter holder.

Nespresso Coffee Machine: Nespresso coffee machine has special design, but for the most configuration are same, work way also same.

You place a compatible capsule and buckle the lid. Needle punctures three times on the top. After you hit the button the level of mug which is amount of drink, the coffee machine extracts the correct amount of water from the tank of containing water

The water is heat and by a high pressure injected to capsule, let the water through coffee until break the foil which is another side, a cup of espresso shows up.

When the process done, coffee machine would automatically drive out the used capsule into a built-in trash can.

Conclusion: Nespress coffee machine is easier to clean up, Espresso Coffee Machine is easier to operate. But cost of machine, ESE coffee machine is even two times more expensive than Nespresso coffee machine.

  • ESE coffee pod would cheaper than Nespresso capsule.
  • Nespresso capsule has more options for brewer-Coffee Machines than ESE.
  • Nespresso has more flavors, coffee blends, roast options than ESE coffee pod.
  • Important is ESE coffee pod can only available to buy online, that is not convenient for drinkers who like drinking coffee pod.
Conclusion

If you want stronger espresso with crema and want to shorten expense each year, ESE coffee pod would be better. Nespresso is a better choice if you prefer drinking espresso with different flavor.
