VFFS Packaging Machine for granule, bean solution 

Roll Film System:

  • Unwind:

The packaging machine uses a single sheet of film material to roll on the roller, which can be simply called Roll Film. That is, film packaging materials. Most of these materials are composite materials. Specifically placed on the shaft on the back of the machine.

When the packaging machine is running, the film is usually pulled off the reel by a film conveyor belt, which is located on the side of the forming tube at the front of the machine. This is also one of the more widely used ones. Some machines are equipped with sealing jaws that themselves grip the film and pull it down, allowing it to be transported through the packaging machine without the need for a belt.

  • Printer:

As an option, the printer is used to print the date, batch, and logo. The printer brand can be specified by the customer or trust Expak.

  • Film inspection and positioning:

When the film runs to the Photocell. Special markings on the film are detected by the photocell, and at this time, the contact between the films, that is, the coordination between the draw-down belt and the forming belt. After accurate positioning, the film can be cut.

Next, the film tracking sensor, the tracking sensor will detect in real time during film transport. If the sensor detects that the film edge is deviated from the correct position, the sensor will release a signal to drive the actuator, which will cause the entire roll film carriage to move to the appropriate side as needed to make the position correct.

 

Form System:

Forming begins with the film entering the forming tube unit. When it reaches the collar of the forming tube, it folds around the tube to form an annular roll of film where the two ends of the film meet and overlap.

Roughly divided into overlapping seals or coincident seals. An overlap seal is where the two sides of the membrane overlap to form a flat seal, while a coincident seal is where the insides of the two outer edges of the membrane join together to form a fin-like protruding seal. Overlapping seals would be preferred as they save material while looking good.

A rotary encoder is placed near the collar of the formed tube. A moving membrane connected to the encoder drives it. Each movement length generates a pulse, which is transmitted to the PLC. The bag length is set as data on the interface. Once the movement reaches this set data, the film movement will stop, and then reciprocate the cycle. Of course, the machine that moves continuously will not stop.

The film is pulled down by two gear motors that drive friction pull-down belts located on both sides of the forming tube. If desired, vacuum suction can be used to grip the pull-down belt of the packaging film in place of the friction belt. Friction belts are usually recommended for dusty products, they have less friction, which means less static, and are also effective for coffee.

 

Filling and Sealing:

The motion of the film will be briefly paused (especially on coffee packaging) for the formed bag to receive. The hot vertical seal moves forward and makes contact with the vertical overlap on the film, sealing the film layer.

In the continuous motion of the VFFS packaging machine, the vertical sealing mechanism is always in close contact with the film, and there is no need to stop to receive and wait for the seal.

A set of heated horizontal sealing pliers are brought together to form the top seal of one bag and the bottom seal of the next. For intermittent VFFS packaging machines, the film stops to receive a horizontal seal from the jaws that move in the opening and closing action. For continuous motion packaging machines, the jaws themselves move up and down and open and close to seal the film as it moves.

Depending on the situation, we use ultrasonic seal to make cooling systems, typically used in industries with heat-sensitive or messy products.

When the sealing jaws are closed, the packaged product falls from the middle of the hollow formed tube and fills the bag. Filling equipment such as a Mutil-weigher or Auger filler is responsible for the correct measurement and release of discrete quantities of product to be put into each bag. These fillers are not the main components of the VFFS packaging machine, but we provide a complete set of equipment to form a complete solution, the advantage is that the integration of resources reduces customer time and effort.

 

Outfeed:

After the coffee is released into the bag, the knife inside the heat sealing jaws moves forward and cuts the bag. The jaws open and the packaged bag drops. A bag of coffee is all packaged, we provide different output and different models to meet customer needs.
